Wrekin was a wealthy, important planet, the capital of a faction during the Civil War. It was blasted to pieces by the THE FLEET INVINCIBLE using a planet-cracking omega bomb, perhaps the last one ever to exist.
Currently it contains a naval base to support the patrol squadrons that sweep the THE FORBIDDEN ZONE. There are also 2 small prospecting stations,one owned by POWERCORP and the other by TRANS STELLAR, each looking to make an antimatter strike. Both stations have reported to the navy that they've detected signals from either small habitats or ships on occasion in the belt.
