When the first King Edward landed in the area known as Kingston, they immediately created a keep to close off the NorthWest harbor of Kingston from marauding pagans and Normans. This keep was eventually rebuilt in stone and mortar, and continues to stand proudly in the place where Fort McHenry stands over Baltimore's inner harbor in our world.
