THE PIT OF THE OBELISK
In ancient days, the followers of Set seized a Hell-mouth in the desert, south of Idessa Oasis. They build a pediment and obelisk on top of it to control the flow of evil to suit their master’s will. Degenerate lizard-men descendants of the Set Worshippers ruled over the site , served by some degenerate nomad tribes for a long time. At last, MROW and LOTHAR OF THE HILL PEOPLE destroyed their cult and killed the Lizard High-Priest Raggax in 2019.
It is unknow whether the nomads seized the site for themselves, or whether Herporites, lusting after the Hell-mouth, have sent their own minions to seize it in the years since.
The pit consists of a small, above-ground shrine which leads to a series of chambers through the earth, surrounding the central pit itself, which is open to the air above. The obelisk stands in the center of the pit, destroying all who enter or fly above the pit by means of a burst of demonic energy.
Mrow and Lothar of the Hill People made a complete map of the complex, and a copy is available at the Wanderian's Lodge in Passburg and at the temple of Crom in Emporion. Many other crude copies of this are in circulation as a result.
