Thugs

Thugs are violent criminals who specialize in schemes within civilization such as racketeering, smuggling, or prostitution. They look like respectable folk at first, but really they just want to stab you in the back and take your stuff. They are really the worst sort of person. They really are bad news. Just the worst.

Thieves

Thieves are criminals who prey on society at the fringes, but make sure to use their cunning and skill rather than their brawn to make coin. They are the masterminds and skilled dodgers who prey on the weak willed and unprepared through confidence schemes, pickpocketing, counterfeiting, and burglary. Although they are pretty awful people, they are actually kind of the same sort of people as adventurers. So, they are in effect just another type of the worst kind of people.
