Captain Randolph Hoorley is the owner/operator of the Red Rash, a beaten-down Freighter that makes the rounds of the region around [[bastard_station|Bastard Station]] on a regular basis.   He pays a cut of his profits to the [[contraband_alliance|Contraband Alliance]] to keep himself out of trouble.   

Part of his operation involves taking desperate fugitives to Bastard Station and dumping them off there. The fugitives must pay a fee up front to the Captain, who splits it with the station owners. This income brings the station enough revenue to pay its small group of [[station_crew|Station Crew]] and enough power cubes to keep the lights on and air flowing.  The fugitives, once they are delivered usually end up joining the [[station_bums|Station Bums]].

Hoorley also fills shopping orders for the station.  Most contact between Hoorley and station owners is handled by [[space_loser_evans|Space Loser Evans]]. The amount he cheats is unknown, but the fact of the cheating goes without saying.

Hoorley is tall and has a red beard flecked with gray.  He always seems tense and nervous and can't relax.   He is afraid of death by vacuum and so always wears a vacuum suit, often with the visor up in atmosphere.\\

===The Red Rash===

The Rash is in bad condition (see Vigor d4), and is constantly being patched.   It approaches Bastard Station using a false transponder signal making snoopers think it is a "Massive General" survey vessel.  Hoorley usually crews the ship alone, but occasionally will hire some temporary help.
