Hercules Station
Hercules Station is the headquarters of Hercules Squadron, a Space Patrol Squadron tasked with the survey, contact and protection of human colonies in the 6 sectors of The Hercules Cluster. The station is homebase for 6 frigates, each assigned to 1 sector, 2 more frigates held at base as reserves. There are also 3 dispatch ships at the station for communication duty.
The station is located in a star system with no terrestrial planets, although two of the gas giants in system have large moons, one of which has a small Space Patrol scanner outpost.
There are approximately 200 personnel on the station (not counting the crews of the 6 survey frigates) on permanent duty. It takes a dispatch ship or frigate 80 days to reach Earth from the station. One is sent back as soon as one arrives from Earth every 80 days.
The commander of the station and Senior Patrol Leader of the squadron is Shouting Bill Roundhouse. His deputy is Assistant Senior Patrol Leader Simone Gross.
