Background: Henry Freemont was born in Flagstaff, Arizona in 1896. After the raid by Pancho Villa against Columbus, New Mexico in 1916, he joined the army and fought in Mexico thereafter. In a desperate skirmish with banditos, Freemont was trapped in a cave, surrounded by enemies. He had the first of his visions at this time, with the spirits of Davey Crocket and Abraham Lincoln telling him that he had a mission to defend his country from evil. They gifted him with the power to smash down his enemies with a mighty sonic punch. He used this power against the bandits, and later in Europe against the Germans during the Great War (where he earned the rank of Captain). After the War, Freemont served in the Arizona National Guard, and then in Treasury Department’s Prohibition Bureau.
Motivation: Serving as a prohibition agent in Gotham City, Captain Freemont was ambushed and shot in the back by bootleggers. Having spent months in the hospital, comatose for much of it, he made a full recovery at last. However, his job and savings were gone. After spending weeks shuffling around doing what odd jobs he could, for the second time in his life, Freemont saw a vision of the spirit of Davey Crocket who told him to seek out a Mr. Cheavers who would show him how to continue his life-long mission to serve and protect his country.
Special Item Captain Freemont's personal special item is a supply of Experimental Rifle Ammunition. Hank's war-time buddy Rex Waterson is a lead chemist at the Dupont Plant over in Metropolis, he creates these bullets in his home laboratory and is currently extensively testing them, but saves a supply for Freemont to use in actual field conditions.
