Few have encountered a Spined Quail and lived to tell the tale. It is said that this small Atlantean abomination is a combination of an insect, snake, bat, and a chicken lined in long, thin spines that secrete deadly poisons across its body. Despite not being much bigger than a small dog, there are several tellings of how nests of these abominations have been able to slay entire parties of able bodied soldiers by brushing against them with their quills or even spraying deadly venom into the eyes of their prey.
