KNIGHTS

A Knight is a professional soldier with heavy armor, heavy warhorse, lance, shield, sword and squire. Knights must be trained from a young age to learn the skills of cavalry fighting and the heavy charge, so they are full-time warriors, not farmer-militia and have a bonus +1 to morale factored into their stats. Each Hundred in the Kingdom of Nessex is required to provide 1 armed knight for the King's Army for 60 days service a year, but the Lords of most Hundreds typically try to arm and equip several more as their finances permit. The Earls of the Shires and the King himself also keep bands of household knights sworn loyal to themselves.

  • Speed: 30'–60' when mounted on light warhorse

  • Resistance: 14; vs. magic 9
  • Mods: W-1/N+3/S+4
  • Speed: 25', 50' when mounted on a heavy warhorse
  • Morale: +5
  • Stealth -1 Perception -1
  • Attack: +4; Damage: 1d10 (arming sword)
  • Attack: +4; Damage 1d12 (lance, double on charge)
  • Attack: +4; Damage 1d6 (mace or dagger)
  • Knightly Combat: has various combat advantages on horseback

  • Morale: +6
