The Frankish empire of Charlemagne created a unified social and political organization in mainland Europe. The political union is long gone, but most inhabitants of the Holy Roman Empire (Germany), the Kingdom of France, and smaller realms between like Flanders, Lorraine, and Burgundy all are still considered Franks.

The decadence of these peoples living amongst the dying embers of Rome allows access to arcane knowledge and innovations. Frankish adventurers start with a +2 INT score.
