Dublinshire

Dublinshire is an Earldom situated at mouth of the Great King Godwin River. It is bordered on the West by Radmondshire, and to the North by Jorvikshire. It does not extend East beyond the river into pagan territory.

Dublinshire was settled in the 1080's primarily by intermarried families of Irishmen and Welsh. After a long period the King finally recognized the first Earl of Dublinshire- Niall the Barechested, This newer earldom was officially settled in 1095.

There are 18 Hundreds in the shire, the majority of which are ruled directly by the Earl. The main settlement at the mouth of the river is a smaller community, made up mostly of an impressive wooden keep.

The other Hundreds of the shire are ruled by the Earl's younger half-brother Donall, who perhaps has a better claim to the territory than the current Earl. The two contingents have grown to hate one another over the years as the Mac Donalls are accused of banditry and the O' Niall family often considered lazy and greedy. If the Earl of Dublinshire should die there could potentially be significant bloodshed.

If the aged Earl of Dublinshire were to die, the entire shire could fall into
