=====CENTRAL PLAINS=====

East of the [[veskrags|Veskrags]], West of the [[pine_wood|Pine Wood]], North of [[crossroads_tavern|Crossroads Tavern]], is a large area of unsettled grassland that once was a large part of the [[dukedom_of_great_vale|Dukedom of Great Vale]].

Today, herds of wild cattle and horses, bands of Centaurs, and various brigands and monsters wander through the grass.   Most travelers stay on the North Road, which runs from Crossroads Tavern to the [[algart|City of Algart]], but which is largely unpatrolled through most of its course.  Therefore, merchants tend to make the run in large caravans with ample protection.

The grasslands themselves are dotted with ruins from the time of the Dukedom of Great Vale, fortresses, towns, houses, tombs etc., litter the countryside.   Some are empty, some are haunted, some are occupied by monsters or recent settlers.
