=====The Historical Hiatus=====

This is an Earthling term used to describe the period from 2065-2356 AD. All records were kept digitally during this period on Earth. All such digital records were destroyed in 2023 during the [[ai_apocalypse|A.I. Apocalypse]]. New records were only begun to be kept in 2356 when the old hard-copy records from the Library of Congress vaults were rediscovered.  This period in Earth's history can only be guesswork.

This period can be more loosely applies to the period From the Beginning of Time to 2203 in the rest of the galaxy, since the majority of civilizations did not have the hard copy records that Earth did.  Therefore, most of galactic history is a patchwork of guess, inference from archaeology, memory of longer-lived species and oral tales.
