| The Patrol is organized in Squadrons, each of 4 to 20 spaceships and their carried vehicles and craft. Each squadron has a headquarters base, such as [[hercules_station|Hercules Station]] and is commanded by a Senior Patrol Leader and his deputy, an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. The SPL is in charge of assignments, leaders multi-ship missions, oversees operations of both the squadron and the base.
