This "picture palace" was a popular destination and landmark throughout the 1920s. The disadvantaged youth of Blanchaven love their cinema and were regular patrons until the older generation led by [[Mayor Buckhouse]] protested the “lascivious moving pictures” because of the way it depicts women dancing and wearing men's garb.
