=====St. Luke's Hospital=====


St. Luke's Hospital is run by a self-replacing board of community members and it is not run well by them.   On numerous occasions it has turned down considerable grant money when they were attached to financial inspection or oversight requests.   The staff is over-worked and underpaid, and it is located in north eastern [[gotham_proper|Gotham Proper]], too close to [[crime_alley|Crime Alley]], [[the_bowery|The Bowery]] and the [[east_end|East-End]] to avoid being the dumping ground for gangland violence.  It's often called St. Last's (as in Last Chance) by the medical community from its willingness to hire washed-up and disgraced doctors and nurses other facilities wouldn't touch.  It is just 2-3 more total catastrophes away from something serious happening.
