=====The Baker and Lee Law Firm=====

Founded in the early 19th century, Baker and Lee is the oldest law firm in operation in Gotham City.  Its twin currencies are respectability and success.  The firm owns its very own investment bank, [[baker_investment_trust|Baker Investment Trust]], and is the favorite firm of the leading families.  The motto of the firm is "loyal service, no scandals."

There are always seven full partners in the firm and their vote decides how the firm operates.  One seat is held by the heir to the Baker family, one seat to the heir of the Lee family.  The remaining 5 partners are successful lawyers promoted from within.  The current Baker partner is [[Mrs. Alma Teasdale|Mrs. Alma Teasdale]] and the current Lee partner is [[Horatio Lee Gold|Horatio Lee Gold]].  The most talented of the practicing partners is [[Melvin Wheelock|Melvin Wheelock]].

They employ many associates and many interns and clerks.  Most notable among the interns is [[richard_nixon|Richard Nixon]], a firebrand anti-communist.

The firm has its own building, a fine brick office building in [[old_gotham|Old Gotham]], around the corner from the [[city_courthouse|Gotham City Courthouse]].
