Dominant Terrain:  Dead Forested Mountains

Features:  [[r9|R9]]

These mountains are seemingly devoid of life.  There are dead trees of great age everywhere and the soil is blasted ash.   There are very few folk who enter the zone at all.   The militia of [[balth|Castle Balth]] does sweeps along the edge to warn of the encroachment of the evil dead who are rumored to lurk there.

[[R9|R9]]--The Pits of Hell:   the top of one dead mountain is scooped out and there is an ancient temple or burial complex dug deep within it.   The only explorers who visited there returned broken and half mad.
