Much like Guardian Corpses, Legion of the Damned are corpses animated by minor demonic spirits or the ghosts of damned warriors through the agency of wicked magic. Because they have no functional organs they are immune to piercing attacks and must be literally hacked or bludgeoned to bits. Unlike Guardian Corpses, the Legion has some initiative and tactical sense in carrying out their orders and even has the power of speech, but they are bound to the orders of their creator nonetheless and never check morale. When the Legion are animated, the caster must decide whether they will maintain their natural, corpse appearance, in which case they cause humans encountering them to make a morale check at contact. The caster, instead, can imbue the Legion with an illusionary outward appearance of living soldiers, which can have its uses, but in which case they don't instill the terror of the corpse form.
