Strange Riley is an herbalist with a shop in [[jorvikburg|Jorvikburg]] on the corner of Godric and Phillip streets. He is a bit more educated and theoretical in his practices than [[Mistress Grundy|Mistress Grundy]], the other herbalist in town.   Indeed, Riley is eager for all things Atlantean and can often be found buying "Atlantean" artifacts from explorers which others might not bother with.  He acquired the nickname "Strange" from his habit of talking to himself frequently (and loudly).



He is the cousin of "Brother Riley" the "monk" who had a small cult in [[worms_ferry|Worm's Ferry]] when it was dominated by the [[dillsburg|Dill gang]]. "Brother Riley" was killed by [[angus|Angus McNasty]] when he reconquered the village for Earl Godric in early 1130.  It is presumed that he might have some sort of grudge against Angus.
