====== Danish ======

The Danish peoples are haunted, living amongst their long-dead ancestors who still roam the land as spirits and echoes. Most Danes in the New World live in the Earldom of [[Thorsland]].  Almost all of the immigrants to Thorsland are diehard pagans fleeing Denmark rather than convert to Christianity. The contemplative Danish adventurers start with a +2 bonus to their INT score. 

Primary Language: Norse.  Secondary Language: English.

Danes have a sense of rivalry with the [[norwegian|Norwegians]] and are quite friendly with their [[normans|Norman]] kinsmen.  The Old World hostility between [[English]] and Danes has begun to lift, but in the New World the Nessex English and Thorsland Danes are bitter enemies.

Danes revere their ancient heroes, such as Sigurd, Starkad and Amleth as well as the memory of Canute the Great who ruled England, Denmark, Norway and parts of Sweden (as well as gaining the fealty to Scotland and Wales) early in the previous century.
