To a Bloody Pulp

The Fire Commissioner, appointed by the mayor, oversees the fire and rescue services of the city. Each district in the city has 2 firehouses, each housing several fire trucks and ambulances. A Fire Captain runs each district, and a lieutenant runs each house/company. Even gangsters don't want to have their homes burn down, so the fire department is among the least corrupt parts of the city government. Arson investigation, however, is in the hands of the police inspectors, not the fire department.
