Wayne Public Holdings was founded as an investment bank to manage the [[the_waynes|Wayne Family]] fortune, but was soon spun off into an independent company offering fee-based investment advice and management and the creation and sale of mutual funds.

Recent forays into helping to ease the pain of the [[the great depression|depression]] have led to accusations that the company is wholly under the control of the [[Communists|Communist Party]]--this may be due to their competitor [[baker_investment_trust|Baker Investment Trust]] spreading rumors, one of their interns [[richard_nixon|Richard Nixon]] being heavily involved in the anti-communist movement.
