The Wayne empire's primary components in the current era are Wayne Shipping, Wayne Technology, and Wayne Industries.   The business is currently run by the brothers [[Patrick Wayne|Patrick Wayne]] and [[Silas Wayne|Silas Wayne]].

For a shipping company, Wayne Shipping is doing moderately well under Silas's leadership in these hard times.  There has been talk (mainly by Federal Officials) of merging with Transworld Shipping, a [[the_cobblepots|Cobblepot Family]] company, in order to reduce duplication in these rough business conditions.  However, neither family has their hearts in the merger idea.

Patrick is in the middle of a public feud with Blair [[the_elliots|Elliot]].  Patrick argued against the building permits for Blair's [[Ajax Chemicals|Ajax Chemicals]] project for environmental reasons.
