Emil was a hard-bitten [[Belgian|Belgian]] bounty hunter and sometimes mercenary.   He had come to Gotham in search of a mysterious terrorist who is responsible for raining flaming chucks of debris and [[evil_donald_pleasance|"Evil" Donald Pleasance]] down over the Belgian countryside.   He was always accompanied by his assistant, Dennis, who was, in fact, a clone of [[evil_donald_pleasance|Evil Donald Pleasance]].

Emil and "Dennis" were killed in a gunfight with Falcone Gangsters on January 20, 1934 when the bounty hunters attempted to take [[tony_farms--the_puma_man|Tony Farms--The Puma Man]] while he was guarding a union boss from the aforementioned gangsters.
