Background:

Newt grew up an orphan after his Papa was found dead in the forest crushed by a tree. He's never forgiven all plants for his Papa's death. Newt grew up in the shadow of the Gunderson manor in Geoff. He took to Kurt early in both of their careers and they have been best friends ever since.
